SkillCell develops a range of tests to detect in food (fruits, vegetables, etc.) and water the main endocrine disruptors / pesticides used in agriculture and industry.
The company will focus in particular on several chemical compounds suspected to have an impact on human health and / or on environment:
- Glyphosate, a widely used pesticide of which impact on human health is widely discussed;
- Neonicotinoid insecticides, suspected to be responsible for some of the decrease of the bee population;
- Chlordecone, a highly toxic pesticide that was used for example in the Caribbean, the USA, etc.
This test aims to help consumers, industrials, etc. to better understand and control the agri-food products they eat, produce, etc.
The first tests are expected to be commercialized in 2019.
